Garden Visits
One of the best ways to get great ideas for your Patcham garden is to visit other fabulous gardens and steal theirs! We are organising a number of visits to local(ish) gardens during 2023, please see below for details. We ask that you make your own way to each garden, but if you need a lift, please let us know and we will do our best to arrange one for you.
Architectural Plants
Our friends at Plant Heritage have organised a behind-the-scenes tour of the Architectural Plants nursery in Pulborough on Tuesday June 20th at 5pm.
Specialising in shapely and exotic plants, Architectural Plants is home to the interesting, unusual and quirky - Japanese and European Topiary, hardy palms, bananas, bamboos, and rare evergreen trees.
Owner, Guy Watts, will give a tour of the nursery and share how they run their apprenticeship scheme, and propagate their own stock.
Tickets for Plant Heritage Members are £5, non-members £7.50. To book a place, contact Maddy Ward at Plant Heritage; [email protected]

Sussex Prairie Garden
One of the best gardens in the country is just 20 minutes from Patcham! Join us for a guided tour of Sussex Prairie Garden on Saturday 29th July, at 11am.
Surrounded by mature oak trees, the eight acre garden consists of a series of interlocking arcs of large planted borders in a naturalistic style. Large drifts of different varieties of plants are grouped in a free flowing style, with contrasting leaf forms, stems, stalks, flower shapes and textures. Visitors are welcome to roam in amongst the mighty plants to fully emerse themselves in the experience.
Tickets are £10 per person.
Please let us know if you would like to come.
